We hope you enjoy this new take on an old carol – it seems so apt for the age we live in.
In the bleak midwinter
frosty wind made moan
The earth stood hard as iron
water like a stone
Snow had fallen snow on snow
snow on snow
In the Bleak midwinter
long ago
In the bleak midwinter
the hungry and the poor
Still wait for their Messiah
to end prejudice and war
For still we fight each other
still our children die
If the Prince of peace has come to us
why won’t the white dove fly?
In the bleak midwinter
this fragile planet turns
But through all the years of history
still love seems hard to learn
How can we make a difference
turn darkness into light
In the bleak midwinter
here tonight
What can I give Him
poor as I am
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb
If I were a wise man
I would do my part
Yet what I have I give Him
give my heart
